A massage or spa visit the day before a big celebration is a popular way to actually relax rather than spend the whole trip organizing — Yerevan has several dedicated Thai and Ayurvedic massage centres, and hotel spas in Tsaghkadzor, Vanadzor and Dilijan double as day-spas for non-guests too.

Hotel spas usually need a booked appointment even for non-guests, while some of the dedicated massage centres in Yerevan take walk-ins outside peak hours — call ahead either way to check availability.
